You Should Know Where Every Dollar Goes
Every invoice on every job goes into one ledger, line by line, and every site visit is photographed. So when you ask where your money went, we can show you: the bill, the trade, and the day it was built.
Below is a real job we are building right now, month by month, from its invoices and site photos. It is a client’s home, so we show where the money went as shares, not dollars.

Every Month of a Real Build, Dollar by Dollar

Where it has gone so far
This is a client’s home, so we show shares, not dollars: we don’t publish what our clients spend. Built from every invoice in our cost book for this job, January 2026 to September 2026. Electrical and plumbing are fixed-price contracts billed as the work is inspected, so they are not in these shares yet.

Rough Out a New Home
Where you build moves the number more than anything else. Tap the map, then set the size and finish.
Rough range · Mountain Village
—
A steep lot can add a lot on top of this. On one steep Telluride lot we are building on now, excavation, concrete and shoring alone came to about $473 per square foot of floor area before a single wall went up.
Outside Telluride and Mountain Village, access, utilities and travel change the math a lot, so we price these one by one. Send us the address and we will come back with a range.
All in, roughly what a finished new home here comes out to per square foot. Your real number comes from your plans and your lot.

Lumber Does Not Wait for Your Budget
We buy the same materials every week, so we see a price move the month it happens and order ahead of it.
